Ibrahim Ali don't know how to reply

Letter to Ibrahim Ali (Perkasa chief)
from Dr. Muqtedar Khan,
Director of Islamic Study at University of Delaware
.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, 2013

Ibrahim Ali! We Are Different.

Ibrahim Ali, you blatantly called on Muslims to burn Bibles here in
Malaysia, if this were to have been said by some non Muslim about the
Koran it would have wrecked havoc the world over, you'd see
demonstrations, and maybe even killings such is the response, that is
the typical reaction we would have witnessed, not that I am saying all
Muslims are that way but that would have been the general reaction
from Beirut to Jakarta, from New York to London the world over and
that is a fact.

If it was done in the Muslim world the man who said such a thing about
the Koran would be no more, and yet you have the double standards, it
is all right for you people to say anything you like, as you like
attacking other peoples sacred beliefs, and I suppose you are right
the Federal constitution guarantees the freedom of speech and
expression but when anybody else uses this freedom in such
circumstances you cry for blood, you ask for that that person be
charged and killed, what is this in you I wonder. It's not only me who
is trying to figure this out it is the whole world, why is it you feel
that you are the only people in the world who are given an Allah given
right to do such things, abuse others, use others, defile other
peoples beliefs and places of worship, and that is all right as though
you are the only righteous people in this whole world, and the others
owe you all the respect for it.

I am glad the great majority of Muslim s do not subscribe to your
narrow way of thinking, just like most Christians do not subscribe to
Christian fundamentalism

In fact you will protests about any non Muslim who even whispers
something about Islam some 20,000 miles away, the protests
following that incident by Muslims in Kuala Lumpur would have been
led by none other than you, and that too is a fact, but you see we the
Christians do not deal with such issues in that way. Now imagine
what would have happen if I shared this piece with the people in
countries like Holland, New York, London and Australia, I do not
intend to, you see I am a Christian and that is not how we respond.

We will not stoop to do what you have done, we are different we are
Christians. You see Our Lord Jesus Christ asked us to love those who
persecute us, who tell lies about us, who do bad things to us, for
there is no greatness in loving those who love you, even the biggest
crooks in the world do so, even the most wicked in the world love
those who love them, so there is nothing great in that. I'd rather
stop as you may interpret it as proselytising one of the things you
accuse us of doing and one of the reasons you say why you do not want
us to use the word Allah in our Malay Bibles.

You called for the burning of Bibles because you claim that there is a
group who tried to proselytise Muslims, which you really know is
totally fabricated and I have a strange feeling you are the one who is
spinning this rumour, fed by your sponsor to try and unite Malays
using religion, don't let him use you this way.

Proseltyisng of Christians in rural and poor areas by offering
monitory reward has been the order of the day and since it does
happen it must be reciprocal, you can't claim a right only for
yourself and your beliefs alone, our beliefs are sacred to us too and
the constitution of this country guarantees every citizen regardless
of race or creed the freedom of religion.we do not stop Christians
from embracing the Islamic faith the world over not only in Malaysia,
so why do think you are entitled to this right alone especially in a
country where the constitution guarantees freedom of religion to all
including the Muslims?

Christians who embraced Islam like the wife of Abdullah Ahmad Badawi
proudly acknowledge that they have done so, and yet sometimes we get
you people going after dead bodies claiming the person converted to
Islam, and that too is something their spouses never know, it is
really baffling, have you ever sat down and pondered why would a
person embrace a religion and keep it secret? Would he not want to
tell his closest relatives at least about it if he did really embrace
the religion for the love of it?

Well of course in this country if a Muslim embraces another religion
that is a different story, ,he will not tell you or any other Muslim
till he gets close enough to trust you because he would still want to
share the joy of the other religion with his close ones as it is a
belief system, it is about God, but he will be very careful telling it
to a Muslim, and you know why he will not tell you, in case you don't
please ask me and I'll tell you why.

Your arrogance in part stems from the support and encouragement you
have been accorded by Tun Dr. Mahahtir Bin Mohammed the former Prime
Minster of Malaysia, our beloved country, and a man who has rather
unsuccessfully tried to portray himself as a "moderate Muslim," for
the entire Allah issue was created by him rather than by the less
intelligent ministers who once served him in government as many may
believe, for they are but pawns he uses for his own purpose to this
day just like he does you.

In fact on the day you issued your call to burn Christian Bibles he
delivered the Key Note address at the meeting of your NGO Perkasa. He
is seen as it's main sponsor I'd like to let the world know how
deceptive this person is . In fact the world already does but I need
to just show them that he has not really changed his views and his
dubious ways.

Inciting sectarian violence and using religion for political ends have
been the domain of such people, for them the ends justifies the means,
and you naive as you are (I am trying to be polite here) you are the
tool of this man he has read you like a book and he uses you at every
corner, he is famous for this and that is why Nazri a minister from
his own cabinet once referred to him as a "bloody racist."

Now we on the other hand are aggrieved at what you said, but
remember that Christians used the term Allah long before the Muslims
did, I do not think you have the mental capacity to understand that
so I am not going to pursue that with you.

I know that like me, you believe that Allah was the creator of the
whole Universe and everything that is in it and that includes you and
me unless of course you choose believe otherwise.

Now if you believe that, then it is the same Allah that made you and
me what is wrong in my calling upon the same Allah?

If anybody should have got angry and sentimental UMNO style, it
should have been the early Christians and others who used to pray to
Allah before the Muslims as the Allah predates Islam, but that can't
be the case and everyone including the Muslims of early days and even
today understand that, Allah is God and as such no one can claim
aright to Allah.

Allah cannot and should not be made an issue, it is blasphemous,
Allah is above all these things and we should not draw Allah into
petty squabbles especially if it is meant for political ends, that is
the signature of your mentor, he uses anything even Allah for his own
ends.

We shall ask all Christian faithful to pray for you, to pray that you
understand better and get out of this darkness that blinds you so that
you shall be able to see the light. That is what we are commanded to
do.

We shall pray for you to be a better Muslim, like the others I know.

We do not really blame you, how can we? I don't think anybody really
does, not you and I'll tell you why.

We realise your shortcomings, Nazri once told us you talk only
nonsense and no one takes you seriously, that is why you are not
arrested for all these outbursts, any other Malaysian I suppose would
have been arrested but we know the Chief Mufti of Perak got off Scot
free for his inciting trouble agaisnt the Christians as well, so
Nazri can't be correct, if I said or did something, something far
lesser agaisnt the Muslims the Minister of Home Affairs would have
had me arrested immediately as a threat to the nation, but you see it
is not in my Christian upbringing to say things against your faith and
your beliefs.

Anybody else in Malaysia would have been arrested, you are the only
one left off the hook, and there can only be two reasons, one is you
are used by some really very powerful people, the other is like Nazri
would have us believe, you are so stupid, that you are the only one
in the country to be given this exception, and I beg to differ with
Nazri, it can't be only you, for now there seems to be group
distributing flyers asking people to attend the burning of Bibles in
Butterworth this Sunday.

So you see there are others like you too, and so Nazri can't be
completely right.

I'll try and make sense with you, the word Allah is Arabic, it is
also the Malay word for God, and it has been used in Malay Bibles
since the 16th Century, it is used by Christians the world over and
your excuse, which is this government's excuse as well is that, "it
will confuse the Malay Muslims."

Well it has never confused the millions of Indonesians, the
Bangladeshis, the Arabs and the rest of the Muslim world thus far, and
from the 16th century to this day it has not confused the Malays, are
you now telling us that the Malays have gone backward since our
independence under this Barisan Nasional Government that they now
can't reason as well as they did then?

We Malaysians always thought the Malaysian Muslims we were far more
progressive and tolerant and moderate as some people would describe
us, I believe so too to this day, but elements like you, the scumbag
of our society with the backing of the government of the day, and
coupled with police protection go about with a free reign promoting
violence agaisnt the Christians for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

As a non Muslim let me give you this advice, say and do whatever you
want if you do not like us, but do not use religion to back you up, do
not use Islam to gain support for what you are saying and for yours
and the selfish ends of your political ends.

You have now turned to use religion to turn Muslim agaisnt Muslim this
is being done because you are afraid PAS and PKR will oust UMNO, but
believe me they will not harm you, you were once kicked out of UMNO,
Mahahtir as you know never really liked you, all he is doing is
knowing you he is using you, the same way he used all Malays and that
is why the Malays are turning away from UMNO.

You too should leave UMNO, once they win you will be a nuisance to
them, if Nazri can have us believe you are a fool right now you shoudl
know what to expect if they get what they want from you. I am not
telling you to join PKR or PAS you can vote the BN for all we care,
but watch out they are going to dump you again, and they have made no
secret that they think you are fool, Nazri once said, "nobody takes
you seriously," and that is actually the truth.

Now Ibrahim my friend let me let you read what your Holy Prophet said
about us Christians, in fact you as a Muslim are warned by the Prophet
on how to treat Christians;

Islam's Holiest prophet - The Prophet Muhammed had this to
say;http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dhakamails/message/4917

"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those
who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the
servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because
Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything
that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are
their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their
monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage
it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone
take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His
Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against
all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige
them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female
Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her
approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.
Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented
from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of
the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end
of the world)."

The question I wish to ask is; Are you Ibrahim Ali a Muslim?

Mother of all Commissions of Inquiry (KARMA)

NAJIB, MAHATHIR, BADAWI, SAMY, LING, DAIM, CRONIES & GANG TO BE TRIED IN ABSENTIA BY LONDON PRIVATE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY!

OR, THE MOTHER OF ALL COMMISSIONS OF INQUIRY!
by Fritz Nuremberg, Donplaypuks® intrepid correspondent for economic plundering and abuse of power affairs.

A few days ago, I was contacted by X, a friend of a friend from London. I was reliably informed by X that his revelations will have a shockingly huge and major impact on the both the financial and political affairs of our country, in the coming months.

In 2011, frustrated with UN and western lack of support and inaction, former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and his Perdana Foundation launched their own War Crimes Tribunal, Crime Against Humanity and Genocide Inquiry against Bush and Blair, in Kuala Lumpur. In a macabre turn of events, X said it would appear that a group of Malaysians will convene a private inquiry in London soon, to hold the likes of Mahathir and current Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib, accountable, for, among other things, alleged gross corruption, abuse of power and economic plunder in Malaysia.
X revealed that a group of Malaysian citizens who hold Permanent Residency or Work Permit status in UK and Australia, has decided to initiate a private inquiry funded by themselves, to identify individuals, groups and corporations and their owners responsible for large-scale economic plundering, looting, fraud, corruption and abuse of power over the last 30 years in Malaysia. Part of this inquiry will focus on money laundered out of Malaysia, estimated at a minimum of $250 billion, in contravention of Bank Negara Malaysia's rules.
This group, calling itself the London Private Commission of Inquiry into Corruption in Malaysia (LPCICM), apparently includes some very wealthy senior, experienced and retired patriotic Malaysian judges, lawyers, accountants, auditors, financial investigators, special branch and income tax officers and professionals.

LPCICM is keen to allay suspicion and accusations that it is embarking on a witch-hunt. It is sworn to continuing its work to completion regardless of the outcome of the General Election to be held in 2013.
LPCICM obviously holds the view that a Government under the control of the current ruling party in Malaysia will NEVER hold a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the issues it has identified, principally because, it and its office holders are themselves allegedly parties to some of the most shamefully massive cover ups by any Government in living memory, if not, history itself! As X put it, “E.S. Shankar’s 2012 fiction/satire/literary novel, ‘Tiger Isle-A Government of Thieves’ seems so surreally apt in describing this regime to a T!” (CLICK HERE).
LPCICM apparently began its task of gathering evidence more than a year ago. X reported that through its highly secretive, private and confidential network of informants and whistle blowers, LPCICM has secured copies of ALL major Government Privatisation (known in Malaysia as Piratisation) and Procurement contracts and documents/memos/email exchanges and correspondence, unconstitutionally, and therefore, illegally, classified between 1980-2013 under the Official Secrets Act. LPCICM has also been quite successful at tracing illegal outflow of funds from contractors and agents to culpable Malaysians holding dirty money in secret bank accounts in off-shore tax havens like Zurich in Switzerland, the Channel Islands, Luxembourg, Seychelles, Maldives and the like, as well as Singapore, Australia and the UK.
X listed LPCICM’s mission as to investigate:
1. Corruption in any shape, form or name.
2. Abuse of power, especially for monetary or political gain.
3. Failure of the Minister of Law, Attorney General and the Judiciary to investigate and prosecute in accordance with the law and international norms, especially in murder cases, and in cases involving those connected with the ruling party or media organisations owned and/or controlled by the Government. A Malaysian citizen has openly accused PM Najib and his wife of involvement in murder, corruption and abuse of power. What are the Inspector General of Police and MACC head doing about it?
4. Failure of the Government to defend the independence and integrity of the Judiciary
5. Failure by the relevant authorities to hold proper inquiries into hundreds of cases of deaths in police and other official custody.
LPCICM has set its sights on the dealings, unexplained and unaccounted-for wealth of several former and current:
1. Prime Ministers, Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Senators, Chief Ministers and their aides, and their immediate family members, parents, siblings and relatives.
2. CEO's of several Public Listed Companies and Banks identified as crony-owned, and those of Government Linked Companies and Funds, such as Khazanah, PNB, Prasarna, Iskandar etc.
3. Top Civil Servants, Army/Navy/Air Force Generals/Admirals, Police and Anti-Corruption Officials.
4. Top officials at BNM, KLSE and the SC.
Expert investigators of international experience and standing, informants, whistleblowers and any other volunteers are slated to tender their findings at the LPCICM hearing, at a venue and date to be announced in due course. LPCICM will publish its full program, time-table and the full scope and terms of reference of its inquiry, as soon as its investigations are completed. Any aggrieved parties may be allowed (at LPCICM’s absolute discretion, in person only, and in the absence of their legal representatives) to rebut any testimony, but only if reasonably advance prior application is submitted to LPCICM.
LPCICM will name names, and publish its uncensored detailed findings on the Internet, and submit hard and soft copies of it to:
1. The United Nations.
2. The Governments of the UK, Australia, USA, France, Germany, China, Japan and India.
3. The International Monetary Fund (IMF).
4. World Bank .
5. Organisation Of Islamic Countries (OIC).
It would appear that LPCICM has already started the process of furnishing proof to some Swiss banks to freeze the clandestinely operated USD bank accounts of some Malaysians alleged to have laundered hundred of millions of dollars, accumulated through the device of kickbacks and inflated contracts. LPCICM hopes to eventually have all these moneys repatriated to Malaysia, on terms that it be invested in sovereign funds, managed transparently by its unimpeachably spotless professional nominees, for the benefit of all Malaysians!
This sounds like the MOTHER OF ALL INQUIRIES IS BEING PLANNED!

X had a lot more to say that I have revealed above. But dare we hope that LPCICM will become a reality? Dare we hope that a Government of thieves will be held accountable and made to pay for their contemptible misdeeds? Now it looks like, in a spooky way, Najib the pupil, may well drag his erstwhile master, Mahathir, along with all their cronies, to further ignominy and possibly, a long term behind bars! Let the wives of former chief justices, prosecutors and owners of public listed companies who so readily embrace directly negotiated sweetheart land acquisition, toll highway, construction and MRT contract deals, CEO's of public funded investment funds who suspiciously acquire dying IPP companies at fanciful premiums, let them all, the looters and plunderers, quake and tremble in fear that their day of reckoning may not far off, that in fact it may be imminent! Can they handle the truth!

Perhaps, the LPCICM inquiry might look into resolving, among numerous others, niggling questions like:

1. Why Petronas acquired 100% of KLCC (for some $4 billion?), when it is common knowledge that board and management control could have been secured with 30% equity holdings?
2. Why MAHB embarked on construction of the LCCT2 Terminal at KLIA, now rumoured to exceed the $4 billion cost they swore would not be breached, when Air Asia had planned, and has now implemented, its policy of moving its Regional HQ to Jakarta?
3. Why a former head of the SC, a prominent banker and a well-known Government Trust Company CEO were not prosecuted despite having provided sworn SD's for directorships/shareholdings in the aborted listing of a food company which had submitted misleading information to the KLSE?
4. Why a leading Telco was let off the hook by the SC when within a month after taking itsef private, it sold a material stake at a huge premium (several hundred million ringgit) to foreign investors, when their attempt to do so likewise in Indonesia attracted official intervention?
5. Why a head of a major BN political party was allowed to resign chairmanship of a Plc involved in the biggest accounting fraud ($500 million) in Malaysian history, without being charged for a single offence by the KLSE/SC e.g. negligence, breach of fiduciary, sleeping on the job etc.?
6. Why insider trading prosecution has not been initiated against the husband of a former SC head, despite public perception backed by reliable opinion from leading analysts here and in Singapore, that there was a clear breach of the law?
7. Why in the $250 million Cowgate Bangsar Condo financial fraud, no one has been charged with dispensing $2 million in bribes, while the receiver is being prosecuted? How could a PhD holding Managing Director have been deceived into signing cheques for bribes?
As informed by X, the background against which the founding members of LPCICM in Australia and London were compelled to act, out of love for Malaysia and to secure its future on a more solid foundation, structure and leadership, is as follows:
NO SEPARATION OF POWERS
According to X, based on secret surveys conducted by him and his cohorts, as much as 2/3 of the population of 27 million in Malaysia are convinced that the principle of Separation of Powers as envisaged by our founding fathers and enshrined in the 1957 Constitution, no longer exists. It would appear that several top ex- and current members of the Judiciary, Police, MACC, Civil Service and other investigative and governing agencies, institutions and bodies (such as the EC, KLSE, SC and BNM) have either been threatened, silenced, hopelessly compromised or bought over by rogue elements within the Executive arm of the Government over the last 30 years, preventing them from properly investigating or taking legal action against massive financial and economic looting, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and abuse of power by certain members of the ruling party and their fraudtrepreneur and other cronies.
The attack on our Constitutional rights and protection was deliberate. The straw that broke the camel’s back following the heinous October 1987 Ops Lallang (CLICK HERE) assault on human rights ordered by Mahathir, was the sacking (CLICK HERE) in 1988 of Tun Salleh Abbas, Chief Justice of Malaysia, orchestrated once again by none other than Mahathir. Both of these incidents occurred at a time when Mahathir's and UMNO's grip on power was becoming extremely tenuous. There was grave doubt at that time that Mahathir would be able to cling on to power, given the massive discontent that was brewing within his own party, UMNO.
In the event, Mahathir did a Houdini, and went on to stay in office till 2003, after replacing the old UMNO with UMNO Baru (new) which remained his compliant tool. How 100% of the assets amounting to possibly several billions of ringgit and belonging to the members of a political Party, can be transferred to a newly incorporated political Party comprising a new set of members, must remain a mystery. Yet a can-do Malaysian judge created a first in world legal history.
Mahathir finally, voluntarily stepped down as Prime Minister, after 22 years in office. But the 1987 and 1988 whips that Mahathir cracked were sufficient to terrorise most from mounting any real opposition to many of his ill-thought out billion ringgit financial policies. The reality too though is that the grounds for laying down the form of Government and governance that Mahathir practised and bequeathed his successors - benevolent dictatorship, autocratic, top-down, fiat-driven, call it what you will - had their roots in several much earlier multi-billion ringgit financial scandals glossed over by our Government and Mahathir.
ECONOMIC FRAUD & LOOTING
Measured purely in ringgit terms, the $4 billion Bank Bumiputra fraud (CLICK HERE), the $6 billion Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) US$ forex trading losses scandal (CLICK HERE), the $10 billion Perwaja Steel losses (CLICK HERE), and the $2 billion Maminco Tin fiasco (CLICK HERE) alone add up to a staggering $22 billion. But factor in disclosures in recent years that the BNM forex losses were actually in the order of $30 billion, subsequently masked and reduced to $6 billion by creative accounting. Factor in too that the man sacked for the BNM $30 billion losses is today heading the Government's Economic Plundering Unit. Factor in more that a Malaysian auditor investigating the 1983 Bank Bumiputra fraud was murdered by the Triad in Hong Kong, and that no one in Malaysia has been charged to date with any crime. Then you begin to have an inkling into the economic looting and Mafiaism that has almost become a way of life for some in Malaysia.
If that was all to it, we might just about breathe a sigh of relief. However, mismanagement and alleged fraud (based on actual police reports by management) at Malaysia Airlines System (MAS), PSC Naval Dockyard (costing $4.4 billion), inflated cost of Government and Army/Navy/Air Force/Police administration and defence procurement contracts have all added many more billions, by some estimates $250 billion, to the money that has fled the country. Then you can assess the truly gagging and breathtaking scale of the damage done to Malaysia.
When Najib was installed Prime Minister in 2009, he vowed that "Open Tenders" would be the letter of the law for Government procurement contracts, a pronouncement, as Shakespeare put it, "more honoured in the breach than in the observance!" The spate of multi-billion toll highway and other dubious contracts announced and awarded by direct negotiations and with indecent haste by Najib over the last year seem to clearly suggest, as has been observed by Opposition MP's like Tony Pua, that the real reason for the delay in announcing the date for the 2013 General elections, has everything to do with PM Najib playing out his brand of pork-barrel (oops, can we say that 'p' word here) politics and crony-favored agenda.
Under Najib too, a sitting judge was, on the eve of an important verdict, scurrilously accused by a blogger whose article was reproduced at Perkasa’s website, of being biased and homosexual. And the response from the PM, Minister for Law, Attorney General and Chief Justice? Stunning silence!
Najib surely knows that he is going to lose GE 2013 to the Opposition. He does not seem to realise that he will go down in history as the man who lost UMNO the Government and that's due to his unsatisfactory and still largely unexplained link to the death of Altantuya, the perception, if not the actual reality, of a staggering increase in corruption during his tenure as Prime Minister, the failure to rein in his wife, and a woefully dismal show in taking precipitate action against Ibrahim Ali, Perkasa and Utusan for their excesses.

Coming Soon

These are the ones who have gone into hiding. They will be coming out soon to do their loyal duty for UMNO and Perkasa.
So watch out.
This time they will show no mercy till you drop dead.

Mahathir Kutty's father

International Crooks from Malaysia

http://www.britishvictimsofinvestinginmalaysia.org.uk/images/Dox_Structure.jpg
UMNO Government is a big corporation run by crooks to con every single deal that comes into Malaysia. And sometimes they take their expertise into International Markets. When caught UMNO would sent it best lawyers whose tongue are more slippery than an eel to negotiate. In return the lawyers will bundle the whole case and stamp OSA across and put into a vault. If there is a slim chance of seeing the daylight the Judges will hurriedly issue a make to order judgement where victims will remain as victims without a recourse. These lessons were taught by Mahathir Kutty and refurnish with fine trimmings by his students bestow with titles from the dump sites.

These are the Malaysians who have given our country a bad image and name to the world. And each and everyone of them are arrogant and unashamed of their misdeeds. They proudly proclaim they are successful businessmen but in reality a bunch of trash who cannot survive in the real business world. If today the UMNO Government collapses these very same businessmen will beg like beggars and cried to the new Government for another chance.

One good example is the Pox in the Pot company whose Directors and Owners share the same 'les femmes et les lits' with the leaders in UMNO.

Thunder Cat

Ketua UMNO Bahagian Gombak

A reason to reject UMNO in Selangor

Forced to convert

Will the new government do the right thing?
How long will the Sultans continue to close their eyes?
Are they not the real BUMIPUTRA/MALAY of this country?
Pendatang enrich themselves running this country while the origin continues to live in poverty.

The timing is right

The Chinese see Psy.
The Malays see Tanda Putera.
The Indians see Vishwaroopam.
The Rakyat see P.I. Bala.
Najib and BN see the exit.

The children will have to pay for Mahathir's sin

Unconfirmed sources have indicated that TWO (2) "Royal Sulu Army Subjects" from the Sulu Royalty in Lahad Datu were shot dead today.Sources are unable to confirm if their death came from the result of any gun fire from our Malaysian security forces, although residents heard between 6-10 gun shots fired.

The TWO(2) dead men were identified as Hj.Musa and Malik(pic above). Malaysian Security Forces are tight lipped over the incident at the moment....source courtesy of Sabahkini news.

Well if the news is true then Mahathir Kutty is dead duck. Now the Sulu Army will hunt his children down similar to the way the Taiko did to Mirzan in Hongkong.

So now the children of Mahathir Kutty has to pay for their father's sin.

They can now kiss their business good-bye.

Malaysian security forces have started their crackdown on the Filipino armed group that has occupied a part of Sabah, Malaysia, by arresting late Monday the nephew of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III in Sabah.

Abraham Idjirani, spokesperson of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III, confirmed the arrest of Sahid Asaral Aswad in the village of Tanduao in Lahad Datu town.

“But he was not part of the team that arrived early this month. He was born there,” Idjirani said by phone.

“We are not certain what his violation is but it’s clear the Malaysian government has started its crackdown against supporters and relatives of Kiram,” he added.

Meanwhile “This is do or die,” said Raja Muda Agbimuddin Kiram, brother of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III.

In the near future

The 'NO' Saga Continues

February favour the 'NO' word. First it was PM Najib at Psy show, now Yen Yen gets another 'NO' from the Rakyat. So how many more BN politician will get the 'NO' treatment? If this continues and yet BN cannot accept the wishes of the Rakyat. Then it is time for the Rakyat to go a step further by throwing rotten eggs and tomatoes.

Indonesian wins rare victory against noisy mosque

An elderly Indonesian said Monday he had won a rare victory against a noisy mosque, despite being forced to withdraw legal action after an angry mob threatened to kill him.
Indonesian wins rare victory against noisy mosque
Complaints against the loud speakers issuing the call to prayer have been met with extreme opposition in Indonesia, the world's biggest Muslim-majority nation that is home to about 800,000 mosques.

And when Sayed Hasan, 75, filed a lawsuit in December in the city of Banda Aceh, in which he complained of being disturbed by lengthy recordings of Koranic verses, it was met with strong protests from the community.

But Hasan, a Muslim, said despite being taken to see the deputy mayor and Muslim leaders, and then being escorted to the court where he was forced to withdraw his legal suit, he had ultimately won a rare victory.

"I was forced to withdraw my lawsuit as an angry mob threatened to kill me," he said. "But after I dropped my case, the volume was significantly turned down by about half."

A local Muslim leader said the imam had decided to reduce the noise.

City dwellers in Indonesia are often woken up before dawn by intermingling calls to prayer from three or four nearby mosques. Many also blare Koranic verses or broadcast day-long events through loudspeakers.

Ninety percent of Indonesia's 240 million citizens are Muslim. While most practise a moderate form, Aceh province has implemented sharia law, which is enforced by special Islamic police.

So many claims make Mahathir Kutty a happy man

LAHAD DATU: A claimant to the North Borneo Sulu Sultanate is disputing the claim of a Sulu armed group that Sabah was their ancestral homeland.
“My family is the rightful owner of the throne,” said the 45-year-old Lahad Datu businessman Datu Abdul Rajak Aliuddin, who has proclaimed himself as the sixth Sultan of North Borneo.
The controversial Rajak has been detained and charged for burning the Sabah flag and raising the North Borneo Sultanate flag with the lion symbol.
He said that the Sulu armed group led by Raja Muda Azzimudie Kiram, the brother of the Philippines based Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram, had no right to claim Sabah, which was previously known as North Borneo.
“My father Aliuddin Agas was recognised as the fifth Sultan of North Borneo.
“He was one of those who signed the framework for the Malaysia agreement in 1962,” he said, showing documents to back his claim.
He said the Azzimudie group had no right to use the yellow flag with the lion, which was purportedly raised in Kampung Tanduo after they occupied the village at Felda Sahabat 17 from Feb 9.
Proclamation: Rajak showing his business card during an interview with The Star.Proclamation: Rajak showing his business card during an interview with The Star.
Azzimudie and more than 100 of his followers, including gunmen in military fatigues, had demanded that Malaysia recognise them as the Royal Sulu Sultanate Army and that no subject of the Sultan of Sulu be deported as Sabah was their ancestral home.
Rajak told reporters here that the occupation of the village of Tanduo was a sandiwara (acting) for political reasons.
He claimed that after the 1863 Brunei rebellion, North Borneo was made an autonomous sultanate with two other autonomous sultanates of Bolongan covering northern Kalimantan and Sulu in southern Philippines.
He said they were all made autonomous, and individual children of the Sultan were given full control of their respective kingdoms.
Even Pahlawan, Tawi Tawi and Siasi in southern Philippines were under the sultanate of North Borneo, he claimed.
Historically, there were numerous claimants to the Sulu Sultanate.
Over the years, claimants to the throne have produced many documents to the media to back their claims.
Last year in Kota Kinabalu, businessman Datu Mohamad Akjan proclaimed himself as the rightful heir of the Sulu Sultanate and held a ceremony to declare himself as Sultan.
Police questioned Akjan after photos of him as the Sultan of Sulu became public.

Guarantee another term

People today are still talking about the Psy episode which Najib has only himself to blame.
Numbers play an important role in our daily lives. Whether one should believe or not is open to debate. Certain people use religion to justify their disbelieve, while others give it as non scientific and others are the believers.

When I wrote about the Water Snake meets the Water Rat, Rosmah a believer of numbers beside witch craft, went jumping mad and almost hit the ceiling. She demanded and gave strict instruction that Psy should NOT MEET LGE at all cost. As the invitation had already being given out and LGE as Chief Minister will surely attend, a way has to be found.

And the person who is willing to help, who is of the same kind, same upbringing, same believer in numbers and witch craft, share the same ambitious and who can stop LGE was the Queen.

But fate has it that a man who happens to be at the wrong place and wrong time showed his middle finger through his frustration over an argument with his father, at a car not realizing who the occupier was. And the unlucky chap is now sitting in jail and poorer by RM8,000, while big time criminals like Shahrizat and her family are walking free in Bangsar.

So similar to Psy having the Rakyat spamming and asking him not to come to Penang, a finger was pointed at the Queen's car when she arrives.

Fate can be alter but destiny do not. What I did not mention in my Water Snake article was the reading of Najib and Rosmah for the Snake Year. So by stopping LGE from meeting Psy, Rosmah thought she could change LGE's fate. Again Rosmah failed to realize is that Psy was not the only Water Snake that could bring fame to LGE. Yes, the Queen is also a Water Snake.

For several years now Rosmah had spring cleaned her whole house many times over and Putrajaya three times with chanting, plastering under the tables, chairs, rooms, curtains, underwear, pillows and beds with charms, and all kinds of witch craft ceremonies costing us more than RM100 million will not and cannot change the destiny for Najib and herself. Plus all the innocent children who lost their lives so that Rosmah can have their virgin blood to keep her TOYOL happy. Yes Rosmah keep them (toyol) in Jalan Duta and Putrajaya.

Well the numbers no matter how you twist or turn it will not be able to change Najib and Rosmah destiny. Especially so when innocent lives are killed for their blood.

So now do you understand why many youth are missing?

Sabah should be given back to Sabahans

lahad datu
Mahathir has one thing in mind when he was the Prime Minister and that is to have full control of ruining this country. He does not care except for materialistic gains for himself and his families. Yes Mahathir the sly fox has more than one family but that is for another time and for the children of those other families to reveal, if there is a fight for the inheritance. You see rich people like them always have family members fighting over their sinful wealth. Good example is my old man. He is still scheming to gain more projects from the Government and supporting both BN and PKR with millions in this coming election but because he is at the rightful age of going to the next plane, the children and wives are scheming behind how much shares, properties, cars and planes should be theirs. I am not surprise if they were to fight over where to bury his body just to gain publicity. One of his wives is planning a big send-off better than Princess Diane's last ceremony. At the end of the day it boils down to mere money.

Sabah is the most wanted child now because of the new found oil in their shore. If Sabah has no resources like Singapore then it would be a neglected orphan. Mahathir went through alot of trouble negotiating and giving monetary gains and arms to the Sulu people. Mahathir was even in the planning committee that killed Faud. So now given that UMNO is at their lowest ebb, would Mahathir simply sit down and not do anything knowing that his son Mukhriz's future is at stake. Why is everyone keeping silence on the billion donation and latest and best weapons given to certain people in Philippines by Najib and Mahathir?

Malaysian Armed Forces are given inferior weapons that cannot fire more than three shots, that can backfire or explode when fired. For the past ten years or so, one form of ragging common in the Armed Forces is to make new recruits hold a live grenade and pull the ring. Yes, it did not explode because it is inferior but what happens if one of them did explode. Malays are very good at giving excuse 'it is fated.' So who was the one responsible for such inferior arms? NAJIB AND ROSMAH.

PDRM and Armed Forces cannot go against intruders from outside so they take and use their ego and frustration against the Rakyat. We have many death in custody and brutality on the streets as shown in pictures and videos as evidences of these act done by them. But our laws just protect them.

Given the rot inside Sabah it would be best handle and manage by Sabahan themselves. Why should all the busybody especially Azmin Ali who is double agent for both UMNO and Keadilan be kingmaker in another person's home.

There is an old saying 'Manage your affair within arm reach.'

Sabah standoff: Karma

By

If Malaysia is clumsy about handling the Sabah standoff, it will have the same problem the Philippine government had when it fought a Muslim rebellion in the South in the 1970s up to the 1980s.
Malaysia is in a no-win situation as a result of the standoff in Sabah.
If it uses deadly force on a small group of armed Filipino Muslims now holed up in the village of Tanduo in Lahad Datu town in Sabah, members of the fiercest of Philippine Moro tribe, the Tausogs of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, will retaliate.
If, on the other hand, Malaysia compromises with the armed group purportedly belonging to the Sultanate of Sulu, it will be perceived as a weakling by its neighbors.
Which will Malaysia choose, fighting a rebellion in the Sabah state or swallowing its pride and compromise with the Sultanate of Sulu?
Better to be perceived as a weakling rather than have a bloody civil war in Sabah.
*  *  *
There is no record of the number of Filipinos, mostly Tausogs, in Sabah.
But a friend of mine who used to be in the Philippine military intelligence estimates that one-third of the population in the Malaysian state is Tausog.
Many of the people in Sulu and Tawi-Tawi have relatives in Sabah, which is just one hour by speedboat from Simunul in Tawi-Tawi.
If the Tausogs in Sabah rise up in revolt against the Malaysian government, their relatives in Sulu and Tawi-Tawi will go to Sabah and fight with them.
To the Tausogs, the claim of the group purporting to represent the Sultanate of Sulu that Sabah belongs to the sultanate is legitimate.
The Sulu Sultanate, long dormant and somewhat forgotten because of the war waged by the Tausog-led MNLF against the government, is still revered by Moros in Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
Tausogs respect the Sultan of Sulu in much the same way Malaysians pay homage to their royal family.
If harm is done to Rajah Mudah Agbimuddin Kiram, brother of Sultan Jamalul Kiram, who ordered the Mudah Agbimuddin to enter Sabah, his fellow Tausogs in Sabah and in Sulu and Tawi-Tawi will take up arms against the Malaysian government.
Filipino Muslims declare a rido or vendetta against people who harm their relatives.
The Rido has set off feuds between families or clans that last for decades.
Most of the Tausogs in Sabah have relatives in Sulu and Tawi-Tawi who are ready to take revenge if harm is done to Rajah Mudah Agbimuddin Kiram and his armed followers in Lahad Datu town.
My source in Sulu said that even before the landing of 200 men in Lahad Datu last week, the Sultanate had already sent armed men in small groups to Sabah to escape notice from authorities.
The armed groups are being coddled by Tausogs in the Malaysian state.
The ocean border between Sabah and the Philippines is porous or easily penetrated.
Most of the tens of thousands of Filipino illegal immigrants in Sabah entered through this porous border.
It’s very easy for armed Tausogs to enter Sabah and wage a guerrilla war against the Malaysian government should hostilities break out between the Sultanate group and Malaysian police.
Tausogs love to fight and look for reasons to pick a fight.
If Malaysia assumes a violent stance against the Sulu Sultanate group, the Tausogs will have a reason to fight them.
* * *
When the government was fighting the MNLF in the 1970s through the 1980s, Malaysia was secretly supporting the rebellion in the South.
Weapons coming from Libya and other Middle East countries passed through Malaysia on their way to the MNLF.
Now, it seems the shoe is on the other foot.

Look at how the UMNO Baru members in Pekan goes around town bullying the youth and Rakyat. Why are the UMNO Baru members in Pekan afraid? Is this what UMNO Baru is teaching and encouraging its members to do and waste time? Is UMNO Baru a triad party? How can the Rakyat even think that UMNO Baru has changed or is able to change? UMNO Baru has indeed transformed into a menace to society and its country.
All this before the 13th GE. Imagine what will happen when the result shows UMNO Baru has lost its power and position.

Mahathir Kutty will once again show us the 'Art of Deception'

Welcome to the official website of the Royal House of Sulu
under the headship of Ampun Sultan Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram of Sulu, 35th Sultan of Sulu

New Sultan of Sulu reported to the throne

Raja Muda (Crown Prince) Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram succeeds his late father Sultan Moh. Mahakuttah A. Kiram as 35th Sultan of Sulu.

Island of Jolo, Sulu, September 20th, 2012. - Raja Muda Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram has been proclaimed as Sultan of Sulu by Rumah Bichara (council of elders), bangsa Suluk (people of Sulu) and bangsa Sabah (people of Sabah; previously known as North Borneo). The proclamation ceremonies took place in historical coronation site in Maimbung, island of Jolo, Sulu on 15th and 16th of September. The ceremony was conducted by Imam (worship leader of the Muslim community) Jamiul Jasim who was appointed as Imam already by Sultan Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram's grandfather Sultan Moh. Esmail E. Kiram. In accordance with Sulu tradition Sultan Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram named his eldest son Moh. Ehsn S. Kiram as his Raja Muda and heir. The new Sultan was warmly welcomed by Hon. Hussin U. Amin, Mayor of Jolo, Sulu.

THE ROYAL HOUSE OF SULU (ROYAL SULTANATE OF SULU): A HISTORICAL SURVEY
by H.E. Datu Sadja Michael Y. Medvedev
The Kingdom of Sulu – its equally correct but more precise name being the Royal Sultanate of Sulu – is a traditional Islamic monarchy of the Tausug people; a nation, both historical and extant, which currently continues its existence under the supreme authority of the Republic of the Philippines. Among the princes and chiefs of the Filipino first nations, the Sovereigns of Sulu are considered as the premier traditional monarchs; and their royal dignity and the style of Majesty, uncommon for the Malay sultans, is indisputably recognized for centuries.

Apart of the island of the same name, the Sultanate’s territory includes various islands and districts in and around the Sulu Sea. The Sultan-King enjoys also the supreme sovereign rights for the north of Borneo, which province is currently lent by Malaysia and administered as the state of Sabah.

I. The realm’s pre-history

The legend – realistic, largely supported by evidences, and mostly reliable – tells that the Sultanate’s immediate predecessor, Raja Baginda, a relatively peaceful conqueror from Sumatra, introduced many novelties in Sulu in 1390-ies, including the centralised power of a supreme monarch, the elephants, and – most significantly – the Sunnite Islam. Shortly prior to Baginda’s arrival, Islam was preached in the region by the great missionary, Karim-ul Makdum, but the heathen (probably Hinduist) customs and rituals of the local communities were generally maintained until the Raja embraced the monotheism. Baginda had no male heir and his dominion became a dowry of his daughter, Princess (Dayang-Dayang) Paramisuli. It is believed that Paramisuli’s mother was herself a heiress to a prominent local chief.

II. The Hashemite dynasty

The man who married Paramisuli was Sayyid Abu Bakr Abirin, a nobleman, a lawyer and a theologian. As his title of Sayyid suggests, he belonged to the direct posterity of Prophet Mohammad, namely of its Hashemite branch. A son of a Mecca-born Arab father (and, according to some authors, of a Malay princess), Abu Bakr was raised in Johore, being no stranger to the East Indian region. Baginda appointed Abu Bakr as his heir and made him a chief judge in matters temporal and spiritual.
On his accession, Abu Bakr was able not only to maintain the centralized power achieved by father-in-law, but to develop it considerably, and to establish a Sultanate – a theocratic monarchy in which he was a sacred ruler, both a sovereign and a religious leader, a “Paduka Mahasari Maulana al-Sultan Sharif-ul-Hāshim”. This occurred in 1457. Since then, the Sultanate of Sulu remains a joint entity, temporal and spiritual alike, which phenomenon is actually well-known to the Christian Europe, and sometimes defined as persona mixta. Among Abu Bakr’s temporal reforms, the territorial repartition is particularly telling of his power: it divided the island into five districts and included all the sea-shore as well as the vast territory around the residence into the immediate domain of the Sultan. The Sultanate extended its influence far away the shores of the island of Sulu and became a mighty maritime power. Its power and influence was effective on short and long distances, as it was wittily illustrated by the later Sulu badge, a kris and a spear.

It was already under Abu Bakr’s sons, Sultan Kamal ud-Din and Ala ud-Din, that the Tausugs faced the European expansion, but for long they were able to oppose it. From time to time, the Europeans invaded the territory of the Sultanate and even the capital city of Jolo was captured several times, but the Tausug state persisted. It seemed for a while that the Jesuit missionaries succeeded in Sulu; Sultan Alim ud-Din was benevolent to them and even was baptised in 1750, becoming King Ferdinand I of Sulu. However he faced both opposition of his relatives and compatriots and, more decisively, the attitude of the Spanish commanders by whom he was detained and imprisoned shortly afterwards. When the Sultan regained the freedom and the throne (with the assistance of English troops), he preferred to act henceforth as the jihad-performing “Amir ul-Muminin” (the Lord of the [Mohammedan] Faithful) and today is famous among the Tausugs under that name.

Both Ali mud-Din and his son Sultan Israel faced growing instability within the Sultanate and within the Royal House, dramatically provoked by exterior pressure. Since their reigns, the traditional line of succession was interrupted several times, for political reasons, by various “anti-Sultans” (members of the dynasty’s younger branches or even of related families), but at the same time these deviations helped to regularise the dynastical doctrine and to make the lawful inheritance of the throne more linear.
Sultan Jamal ul-Kiram (died in 1844) was the first to use the name “Kiram”; his posterity became the Royal branch of the Sulu Hashemites, the Sovereign House as such, and from him descended all the posterior legitimate Sultans.
It worth mentioning that this Sultan was the first known historian of his nation; he collected various legends and tales, reliable and rather fantastic alike, and dictated this unique compilation to his councillor.

III. The vassal status

Due to the wars and the conquests, the regional and inter-regional trade routes changed radically, diminishing considerably the Sultanate’s former importance. The ports controlled by the European, the use of steamboats and the continuous warfare deprived the fleet and the harbours of the Tausugs of their former importance; as a result, for a while most of the Tausug maritime energy was accumulated by the local piracy rather than by the regular trade. In 1851, after a successful raid of General Urbiztondo, Sultan Mohammad Pulalun was forced to sign a pact which turned the Sultanate into a vassal autonomous state, incorporated into the Spanish monarchy. In accordance to the Spanish text of the pact, the Sultan ceded his sovereign rights to Spain; the Tausug text was much more moderate and merely acknowledged the supreme sovereignty of Spain, leaving the Sultan’s exclusive prerogatives intact. One has to admit that de facto the later model was followed. The tension continued and the Spanish occupied, after a dramatic siege and battle, the Sultanate’s capital Jolo in 1876, but even this did not terminate – either de facto or de jure – the vast autonomy of the Kingdom-Sultanate.
Then Spain transferred its rights and claims to the USA, and the bilingual trick from 1851 was repeated, intendedly or not, by the American representatives when the Bates Agreement was signed by Sultan Jamal ul-Kiram II. This agreement was, however, unilaterally abrogated by the USA, leaving the Sultan (despite of his protests) free both of guarantees and of obligations imposed by this pact. The American attempt to colonise the region effectively led to the “Moro rebellion”. The war resulted in most tragic events and immense human losses. In 1915, a new agreement was signed. Actually Jamal ul-Kiram II was forced by the American governor Frank W. Carpenter to resign the lion’s share of his powers and prerogatives in the USA’s favour, and to accept the direct American administration in Sulu. However, contrary to what was proudly announced by Carpenter, the pact did not deprive the Sultan of all his temporal powers. It should be understood that Carpenter, an able and non-hostile administrator, was opposed in his essentially peaceful plans by many war-minded officials, and in the dispute with them he had many reasons to exaggerate the new pact’s significance. The Sultan’s religious role was confirmed, not affected, by the pact.

The reign of Jamal ul-Kiram II continued under both American and Filipino government until his death in 1936, when Manila decided to ignore the existence of the Sultanate altogether, and denied to express any recognition, let alone any patronage, as to the new Sultan, Muwallil Wasit II. This imprudent governmental decision was followed by the latter’s murder, and resulted in further political entropy and a new dynastic schism.

During the II World War, there were two active claimants to the Kingship, one being supported by Japan and another opposing the Japanese occupation; none of them was of the Kiram Royal stem. The latter was however restored in the person of the then legitimist heir, Mohammad Esmail Kiram I (Muwallil Wasit’s son), in 19505.

This restoration was formally recognised by the Republic of the Philippines in 1962 and again in 1972, as the government in Manila gradually became interested in the Sulu affairs, partly due to the North Borneo dispute, and partly because of the growing radical attitude in the authonomist and separatist Moro movements, to which the traditional monarchist establishment seemed (and largely was and still is) a plausible alternative.

IV. The North Borneo problem

In 1675, the throne of the neighbouring realm of Brunei was disputed and the Sultan of Sulu was asked to settle the conflict as an arbiter; when the negotiations were proved useless, the Sultan used his army in favour of one of the claimants, helped to stop the civil war and was generously rewarded with the northern part of the Kalimantan (Borneo). It was in 1878 that the then Sultan, Jamal ul-A’Lam, looking for a political balance in the region, granted this part of the Sultanate on lease to Europeans. With time, North Borneo became a British crown colony and then was incorporated into Malaysia as the province of Sabah. The Sultan remained the de jure supreme sovereign of North Borneo and continued to receive the annual fee as established by the initial agreement. It worth mentioning that the Sultan’s rights were confirmed by judicial and governmental acts in Sabah and Malaysia, and that neither Bates Agreement nor Carpenter Agreement affected these royal rights in any way, because the US explicitly declined from interfering into this delicate matter. Numerous influential Filipino politicians, to the opposite, considered North Borneo a part of the Sultanate of Sulu and thus a dominion of the Philippines. Thus the claim to Sabah appeared depending on the Sultanate’s existence. To obtain the formal recognition of the Royal Sultanate of Sulu by Manila (which implied a chance to reestablish the Tausug autonomy), Sultan Esmail twice (in 1962 and in 1969) signed acts of cession of North Borneo to the Republic, but as the latter failed to implement the practical provisions of these acts, such as to claim the province effectively, both these acts appeared void. The North Borneo case remains a complicated legal as well as political problem. Malaysia continues to pay the rent to this day.

V. The current state of the Kingdom

In 1974, Sultan Esmail died and was duly succeeded by his son and heir Mohammad Mahakuttah Kiram6. The accession of the new Sultan was solemnly recognised by the Filipino President, under whose act Manila acknowledged not only the personal status of the Sultan-King but also the formation of the government of Sulu. Presidential representatives attended the coronation of HM Sultan Mahakutta on 24th May 1974. On this occasion, Mahacutta’s son and heir HRH Datu Muedzul-Lail was installed (and formally recognized by the Filipino state) as the Raja Muda (Prince Royal and heir apparent).
Sultan Mahakutta passed away in 1986 when the political situation in the Philippines was profoundly different; the power passed from the dictator Ferdinand Marcos to an experiment-minded leader, Corazón Aquino, the perspectives were uncertain, and the political instability in the Moroland was growing dramatically. Manila declined from supporting the new head of the house. Young Raja Muda Muedzul-Lail was advised neither to arrange a coronation without recognition from Manila, nor to throw the Crown into the struggle between the secessionists and the adherents of the Republic. Therefore Muedzul-Lail preferred to remain, temporarily, a Raja Muda and HRH instead of assuming the title and style of the Sultan-King, although it was understood that this decision, according to the Sulu customs, deprived him neither from the headship of the Sultanate nor from the ruler’s prerogatives.
Due to the turbulent political circumstances, the traditional structure of the Sultanate was largely destabilised and numerous pretenders started claiming the throne, to fill the imaginary gap in the leadership. Several coronations were masqueraded. Even Muedzul-Lail”s uncle Datu Fouad, on being appointed by his nephew a viceroy for North Borneo, failed to stand a temptation and used this opportunity to proclaim himself a Sultan both in Sulu and, separately, in Sabah. All these frenetic attempts were, and are, in a striking contrast with Raja Muda Muedzul-Lail’s quietly consistent realistic attitude and his policy of gradual restoration. Currently the Raja Muda operates as a full-scale ruler, assisted by the traditional assembly of the nobility and the notables, the Ruma Bichara.
The heir to the Sultanate is the Raja Muda’s elder son Mohammad Ehsn S. Kiram, who currently enjoys the title of Maharaja Adinda (“the second heir” or “the heir to the heir”). The Raja Muda’s five sons guarantee the firm Kiram succession.
To unite the compatriots, that is, the traditional aristocracy and the commoners alike, the Tausugs as well as the non-Tausug settlers; to gain the recognition of the Philippine Republic for the traditional social practices of the Tausug nation, for which the current Filipino law offers an opportunity; to revive the constructive relations with other Malay and non-Malay sovereign houses: these and other similar tasks, being integral parts of the Raja Muda’s agenda, cannot be accomplished without caution and patience, but also without bold initiatives. The current royal honours policy of the Raja Muda, as an example of such an initiative, will be discussed in a separate paper.

VI. The symbols of the Kingdom

Heraldry makes a fine dessert when not served as a main course. To conclude the survey, it will be useful to pay attention to the nation’s flag and insignia armorial. Since the times immemorial, the Tausugs used various flags to mark the rulers’ residences and vessels. From this practice emerged gradually the constant use of the Royal flags in the 19th century. It is likely that they were originally white and that the further predominance of the red colour was due to the influence of the battle banners. The elaborate ornamental image typical for the flags and banners of the time could, as some authors suggest, originate as the stylised image of the entrance into the Royal capital (Jolo) or the residence (the palace/Astana); but it came to denote the Gateway to Mecca. Another element regularly met with on the old flags is the Zulphiqar, the sacred double sword, as the symbol of the superior authority of the Sultan. A double stripe, usually of blue and white, often appeared at the hoist. Under the American protectorate and occupation, the Sultan was asked to stop using the old flag; and a new, USA-inspired flag was introduced, also red, but this time with a blue canton bearing stars (to denote the five parts of the Sultanate). The traditional Tausug weapons (a kris and a spear, the allegorical composition mentioned above, from time to time completed with a barung) were represented on the red background of this new flag and so was the crescent symbol of Islam, sometimes replaced with a white roundel, representing a celestial body or a pearl, if not both. Several attempts were made to create a correct coat of arms for the Sultanate but for long the heraldic symbols in use remained rather imitative and failed to reflect the authentic tradition of Sulu.

It was in 2011 that HRH the Raja Muda, assisted by the Ruma Bichara, legally established the new arms and flag of Sulu.
The flag reflects different historical levels of the Sultanate’s symbolism, displaying the highly stylised Gateway of Mecca symbolically topped by Zulphiqar over the kris-and-spear national badge. Both the double stripe (of the Royal livery colours, blue and white) and the canton (although with a new composition) are kept, and so is the pearl. The arms are tripartite and show the Meccan Gateway with Zulphiqar (for the Sultanate of Sulu), the Islamic crescent-and-star distinctively completed with the flame of holiness (for the Hashemite descent and the spiritual authority), and an umbrella-topped Kalimantan roofed boat which symbol is borne in the Royal right of North Borneo. On the least splendid occasions, the central part may be borne alone. The arms are ensigned with the heraldic Royal crown of Sulu. The supporters are the two sea-tigers holding the kris and the spear. The full achievement includes also the Royal ceremonial cap, the crest on a wreath, the collar of the house order, the distinctive Royal robe, the state gonfanon, a slogan and a motto. The national arms constitute also the Royal arms of Sulu, and are currently borne by HRH the Raja Muda.
