A YOUNG SINGAPOREAN MUSLIM: I AM NOW AGAINST CIRCUMCISION

I, like many muslims males in the South East Asian region, are circumcised the moment I reached the age of 7 to 10. I still remember the propaganda my parents taught me. They told me that circumcision was a normal part of life and that everyone goes through it. I was teased by my older peers and family member when I was still uncircumcised. They told me that I was still a baby and I should go for circumcision if I want to be with the grown ups.
The week that I was to be circumcised was during the school holidays so as not to disrupt my studies. We had a feast and my parents asked the local mosque to give me some prayers. I had my circumcision done at the hospital with anesthesia so it wasn’t that painful. But the weeks that follow was horrible.
I wasn’t able to walk properly and was in constant pain. I was made to wear the sarong in order to heal but even then, there were instances where the sarong would stick on to the head of my penis after I awoke from a nap and trying to separate the sarong from my penis was extremely painful. I was not able to bathe for many days as we don’t want to get the bandages wet and it made me extremely uncomfortable. But worst of all, urinating was extremely painful. I remembered I world cry every time I had to go to the toilet and sometime I would try to hold it in as long as possible.
But after weeks past, most of the scars have healed, the head of my penis have dried up and I am now officially one of the grown up and was a good muslim. Little did I and my parents know how unnecessary this ordeal was.
Growing up, I thought nothing much of it. It was just something muslims do for cleanliness was told “Cina itu kotor” (the Chinese are dirty) for not undergoing circumcision. I didn’t want to offend my friends so I try to
avoid the topic entirely. But now as an adult, I start to criticize some parts of my religion and found a lot of holes in my belief.

Myth 1: I believed that the foreskin is simply a flap of skin that does not serve any purpose. It is not a big deal and something that I would miss.
Truth 1: There have been many documentaries about circumcision and they all have shown that the foreskin is not just an extra piece of skin. The foreskin itself has many functions. First, it is there to protect the head of the penis. When I look at my circumcised penis now, I will notice the head looks slightly rough compared to the smooth head of an uncircumcised penis. This is because the head of the penis was meant to be an internal organ and due to the absence of the foreskin, the skin on the head of the penis has to harden in order to protect itself, making it look different than it would have naturally looked.
Second, the foreskin acts as lubricant during sexual intercourse. Interviews with women who had sexual intercourse with both circumcised and uncircumcised men have said that it was more comfortable to do it with an uncircumcised man. Circumcision has removed the gliding effect of foreskin so it would feel rougher than an uncircumcised penis. Sometimes, extra lubrication is needed in order to prevent injury.
Thirdly, the foreskin is shown to have over 10,000 extra nerve endings, similar to those on our finger tips. This shows that the foreskin plays a big part in sensitivity during sexual intercourse. In short, men with foreskin scientifically would feel more pleasure than those without foreskin. So indeed, the foreskin is not just an extra flap of skin but plays a big part in the penile anatomy and it is something that I will miss.

Myth 2: I believed that circumcision is good for hygiene. I was always told as a child that those with uncircumcised penis are dirty and that circumcised penis is much cleaner.
Truth 2: There is some truth to this but not really that much. The foreskin have a chance of getting dirty as dead skin cells, urine and ejaculation can get trapped by the foreskin. The messes of dead cells are called Smegma and it could lead to bacterial growth, causing further complication.
There was a point in time that I was proud to have a circumcised penis because I believed that I was much cleaner than those who were uncircumcised. But later in life, I have learnt that women too have faced the problem of Smegma. And they have developed a technique of maintaining hygiene without resorting to cutting parts of their genitals off. It is called soap and water.
The uncircumcised penis can get dirty, but so do your hands, your feet and your butt. And we remedy that by washing after ourselves. During bath time, the foreskin can be rolled back and washed thoroughly to maintain hygiene. So the idea of circumcision to maintain hygiene now sounds like cutting off your hands so you don’t have to wash your hands and maintaining hand hygiene. And now, there are stereotypes that muslims circumcised because they are too lazy to maintain proper hygene.

Myth 3: I believed that circumcision prevents some diseases and even prevent penile cancer. I believed that I was healthier compared to those who were uncircumcised.
Truth 3: Looking back to truth 2, heath of the penis can be maintained by proper hygiene so diseases like urinary tract infection is can be prevented by maintaining proper hygiene. Furthermore, diseases like Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV do not discriminate people based on foreskin or lack thereof. The foreskin does not act as a magnet to all these diseases. People get STD and HIV primarily due to unsafe sex and sex with an infected partner. A circumcised man has just as much chance of contracting these diseases as an uncircumcised man if they don’t use a condom.
Lastly penile cancer. It is true that uncircumcised men have a higher chance of getting penile cancer compared to circumcised men. The chance of an uncircumcised man getting penile cancer in their lifetime is 1:200,000 Circumcised men have lesser chance of getting penile cancer as there are less cells that can become mutated. But the thing is 1:200,000 is a very insignificant chance. Men are more likely to get breast cancer than to get penile cancer. Circumcision to prevent penile cancer makes as much sense as removing the breast to prevent breast cancer.

Myth 4: I believed that it was mandatory in Islam for men to be circumcised.
Truth 4: Perhaps one of the most powerful points to support circumcision was that god told you to. Believers who believed in the word of god will not dare defy it so many muslims will undergo circumcision simply because of their faith. And even this too turned out to be a lie.
There is nothing in the Quran that commands circumcision. Nothing at all. It turned out that Circumcision is not an Islamic requirement but a traditional requirement. Circumcision is a tradition brought down by the Sunni and Shia tradition, not the faith itself. In fact, another sect of muslims called the Quranist (Those who solely believe in the Quran and reject hadiths), believes that circumcision is a sin. Quranist believes in the perfection of the human body and alteration to it like tattoos and circumcision goes against god’s will.
I share this story to show how so much misinformation have affected my parent’s decision to perform an irreversible act to their child. They have regretted this decision once I have shared all the things I’ve learnt and I have forgiven them as they did what they thought was in my best interest.
But now, armed with new information, I believe continuing in this tradition is as barbaric as the old Chinese Foot binding tradition. Circumcision is not something to be encouraged let alone to be done to a child. A child is too young to give such a life altering consent and parents should not be allowed to make this decision of their child. Circumcision is simply genital mutilation that does not serve any medical, hygiene or religious purpose (maybe the Jews only) and should be considered as child abuse if done to a child under the age of consent. The only time circumcision should be allowed to a child if there is a legitimate medical reason to do so.
It really saddens me to see so many children are forced to undergo this barbaric tradition even till this day and I hope this article will help better inform the public of this totally unnecessary and barbaric tradition.
The circumcision tradition will end with me in my family line and I promised never to put my future son in the same position I was. And I hope other will also follow.

Another robbery by security guard and the never ending bribe to PDRM

Armed Guard Robs Jewellery Store In Setapak

PETALING JAYA: An armed security guard robbed a jewellery outlet at the KL Festival City Mall in Setapak near here Friday.

The robbery occurred around 9am and a police source said the suspect was believed to be a Sabahan with a fake IC.

City deputy CID chief ASP Khairi Ahrasa confirmed the incident.

Updated (3:38pm):The security guard, who had been on the job for less than two months, had pointed a pistol at the store owner and escaped with a tray of jewellery around 9am.

City deputy CID chief Asst Comm Khairy Ahrasa said the owner and the three staff in were getting ready to open the store at the time.

"They had read about what happened at the bank and quickly gave him a tray of jewellery out of fear," he said.

The guard, still in his uniform, took the tray and casually walked out of the mall.

"It happened so fast that no one, apart from the staff from the store, knew what had happened," he said, adding that police are still checking the value of the stolen jewellery.

Police are also checking if the pistol used in the robbery was issued to him by his security firm or was privately owned.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said that it was possible that this security guard was a copycat robber.

"It is possible that this security guard got the idea from the security guard from AmBank.

"I also do not rule out more cases involving security guards robbing their employers," he said.

He urged all security companies to check their personnel thoroughly.

"If there is any doubt or red flags raised, please contact the police and we will help you," he said.

Khalid added that police are also paying closer attention to security guards now and random checks are ongoing nationwide.

When contacted, the security firm that hired the guard said he was identified as a Sabahan in his IC, but declined to comment if they performed any vetting on him or whether he was licensed to carry a firearm.

On Oct 23, a security guard shot dead bank officer Norazita Abu Talib after she opened the strongroom of an AmBank branch in Subang Jaya.

The guard escaped with about RM450,000 from the vault.

Police managed to recover about RM20,000 after arresting three of the suspect's family members. A manhunt has been launched for the guard.

It was reported that the man had a fake Malaysian IC stating that he was from Tawau, Sabah.

Policy Making & The GST

As I said earlier we are not America or Australia. We are Malaysia. Yes we want to be a negara maju but we have to get there first. To get there we must do the same things that all developing countries did which made them negara maju

When you talk about economic development there is absolutely and completely no such thing as a different 'Malaysian way' of doing things which can bypass or ignore economic principles.  That is the language of dreamers who do not understand economics or the real world.

Truth No. 1 : To make a profit you buy something low and you sell it high. You can sell it high because you did some value added, you took it from Place A to Place B to sell it or you bought in bulk and then you sold it in smaller quantities. The difference between the higher selling price and the lower cost price is called the profit. Simple. But many people just do not understand the concept.

Truth No. 2 : They also do not understand the time value of money. Money has a time value - put money in a bank and you should be able to earn interest as time passes. The Islamic banking conmen only pretend not to believe this. Because now they invite you to put your money in their "Islamic savings account" and still earn "interest". Only they don't call it interest. They call it al-something.  Whatever they call it, money has a time value attached to it. This is also what makes the world go round.

Too many people who are running the gomen do not understand Truth No. 1 and 2 above very well.

1. The Gomen has called for further discussion about the GST. Well that is a good step. It means that the MOF, the EPU, the 'con-sultans' at Pemandu, the Khazanah boys and the others who are behind this GST have not been able to think things through completely. Now they want to discuss. After the horse has bolted out of the barn. Better late than never.

Ok takpa - lets discuss. But I can tell you this - they are NOT going to listen to any views that are different from their own. I just heard from a friend who is a communications advisor that the MOF does NOT want to meet the Bloggers (for example) over the GST. That is your choice. Itu lu punya pasal. I think I know the reason. Their Minister does not ask them too many difficult questions. So there is no need to prepare too hard.

2. The PM cum Finance Minister says the Congo, Burundi and Myanmar have the GST. So what?

Here are some questions to ponder. How high up the success ladder do Congo, Burundi and Myanmar sit? Have they become 1st world countries already? Despite GST how much social services have their gomen been able to provide their people in Myanmar, Burundi and the Congo ? How much taxes do their gomens collect in the first place? Has the implementation of the GST made their economies miraculously successful?

What about the US, Spain and Greece? They are almost bankrupt. There are sizeable citizens movements called "Occupy Wallstreet", 'the "99 Percent" and such which attract considerable support in the US. They are against the collusion between the rich and powerful and the gomen. GST or no GST this happens all over the world.  The rich and the powerful lord it over the poor and not powerful.

3. The details of the implementation of the GST inside Malaysia are not clear. There are different arguments. I have heard that the EPU, the MOF and the rest of the Gomen are not on a common page about how to explain the GST to the people.

If you do not yet have a common platform, then why did the gomen announce it in the first place?

The KSU of the Ministry of Finance Tan Sri Irwan Siregar Abdullah (this guy here) says that the GST will cause a one time inflationary hike in prices. I believe he also indicated that GST will actually lower the cost of goods and services in the long run. Betul ke bro? Ini ikut Proton School of Management ke? I will do a simple calculation shortly.

4. The GST is a 'point of sale' tax. That is how it is in other countries like the UK. Everytime a sale happens and the item is eligible for GST, then the tax is paid by the buyer to the seller at the point of sale. The tax is paid by the buyer (thats you and me) to the seller (the shopkeeper or the business).

The shopkeeper becomes the tax collector for the Gomen. It is now his resposnibility to collect the GST and then remit the money collected to the Gomen according to some schedule. Maybe monthly, quarterly etc.

This will impose an extra administrative cost and burden on the shopkeeper. He has to maintain records, keep receipts etc. He collects taxes for the Gomen but he does NOT get paid any money for his hardship and his services. Bear this in mind.

With one stroke of the pen the Gomen has outsourced its GST tax collection to all the shopkeepers. Clever dont you think so? But dont forget folks - this is Malaysia. In Malaysia it is always race, race and more race. Do read on.

Now here is a simple GST calculation for selling school uniforms. This is just to illustrate. Feel free to agree or disagree. In this example we will not include any "value added" or even profits to the selling price of the school uniforms. The school uniforms will be sold at cost throughout the supply chain. However we will add the 6% GST.

Step 1 Factory to wholesaler : Say a factory produces school uniforms. They sell school uniforms to the wholesaler at RM100 per bungkus.  Come April 2015 they must add 6% GST. So the price from factory to wholesaler is now RM106.  The wholesaler's purchase cost has now become RM106. And it is hoped that the factory will remit the extra RM6 GST to the Gomen. The factory has become the GST 'tax collector' for the Gomen.

Step 2 Wholesaler to retailer : The wholesaler then sells the uniforms to the retailer. To keep the illustration simple, lets say he sells it to the retailer at the same price he bought it from the factory ie RM106. No profits. But he too must add 6% GST. So the wholesaler's price to the retailer is RM106 plus 6% = RM112.36. It is hoped that the wholesaler will then remit the extra RM6.36 GST that he just collected from the retailer back to the gomen. This is what the Gomen hopes for. The wholesaler has also become the tax collector.

Step 3 The Retailer sells the uniforms to you and me.  Again assume the retailer sells the uniforms at his cost (ie RM112.36) plus GST.  So that works out to RM112.36 plus 6% GST = RM119.10. This is the price that we the consumer will finally pay for one bungkus of uniforms. The retailer's GST collection is RM6.74. And the retailer has to remit this RM6.74 GST collection back to the Gomen.

So folks in a simple supply chain made up of three players (factory, wholesaler, retailer) the consumer ends up footing the cost of GST three times totalling RM6 + RM6.36 + RM 6.74 = RM19.10. This is GST taxes alone.  Belum kira 'untung' and belum kira any other 'value added' that may be done to the school uniforms.

The final price of the school uniforms the consumer pays for would have increased by 19.1% to accomodate the 6% GST payable by each member in this supply chain.

Before GST was implemented (like now), the consumer did not need to pay this extra RM19.10 per every RM100 purchase. So the 6% GST has actually become an extra tax of 19.1% on the consumer in a supply chain involving three parties onlyThis is the compounding effect. Why? Because GST is payable at every point of sale. Every time the product changes hands, GST is payable.

Some people say the GST is only incurred once. Siapa kata? How does that work? Please explain. How do you identify who sits at the beginning of the supply chain and who is the last link in the supply chain? What if the supply chain has more players - 1. factory to 2. stockist to 3. wholesaler to 4. hypermarket to 5. retailer to 6. consumer? It will be 6% GST every step of the way. The compunding effect will be 41%.

How do you identify 'one time GST payment only' if there is value added along the way? The stockist may repackage the product. The wholesaler may do bulk breaking. GST must be added at every step of the way.

So folks with one stroke of the pen the gomen has imposed an extra 19.1% tax on the people (in a three party supply chain). Clever isnt it? And you thought it was only 6%.

And this extra tax is levied on everyone. Presently those earning less than RM3000 per month are exempted from paying income taxes. Now the GST impacts everyone - rich and poor alike. Even the poor must pay tax.

And for those who pay tax - since the income tax has not been drastically reduced it means that your tax burden has actually increased

The Gomen says they will reduce the personal income tax by a maximum of three percent. Big deal. Say you are already in the 20% tax bracket. So now you have to pay another 19.1% GST taxes for the goods that you buy (in a simple three party supply chain). That means you now pay (in numbers) up to 39.1% in income taxes and GST taxes.

There is no GST on food. They say this will help the poor. Bagus. But the rich people also eat the same food. Fish, vegetables, meat, chicken etc. There is no GST on food for the rich as well. Maybe now the rich will eat more food. Why? Because they will become richer. Do read on.

5. Why should you - the end user - foot the bill for 6% GST to your retailer, 6% GST to the wholesaler and 6% GST to the manufacturer just to buy school uniforms for your child? As the end user you end up paying for everything.  Because the manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer will not pay for it. They pass on the cost of the GST to the end user ie you. You pay for their GST at each level of the supply chain.

In Japan to overcome paying GST incurred multiple times like this, Japanese housewives have set up buyers cooperatives. They pool resources to buy their needs directly from the factories or the wholesalers - by passing the middlemen. This is to suffer less GST. Ultimately this will happen here as well.

And if consumers go direct to the producers, this will kill off the small retailers and the middle men even more. And this is where the race issues will come up. Kedai-kedai runcit Melayu yang baru nak survive semua akan kena negative impact. Remember in Malaysia it is always race.

6. Now here is the interesting part. This part will sound more racist and I apologise to my fellow Malaysians if it comes across that way. But I am merely stating things as they are in this country. (And that is also why you read my Blog).  It is a simple fact that the non bumiputras (one race) dominate the economy in the country. It is NOT their fault if they run the economy - they are the business community. They work hard.

Now it is another fact that this community (plus also many other people, including me) complain that the gomen takes the taxes that they pay and uses it to splurge on extravagant spending, sustain the Umno-putraism and the cronyism. The non bumiputra business people who pay taxes are very angry at the gomen. (Read the comments in this blog - this is a daily complaint).

They are also strongly anti-the-Malay-led BN gomen - as evidenced by the results of the last General Election. The large majority of non bumis want the Malay led BN gomen kicked out. These are simple facts. Everyone knows this.

Now imagine the same Malay led BN Gomen has outsourced the collection of GST taxes to this same non bumi business community who are angry at the BN Gomen for burning their tax money.

The BN gomen is going to ask the non bumiputra shopkeepers and businessmen to be their tax collectors !!  And to make things even worse, this GST thing will impose extra administrative costs and burdens on all their shopkeepers and businessmen. Somehow this does not sound like a very clever thing to do

Secondly, by absolute numbers who are the largest number of consumers and buyers of goods and service in this country? It is the Malays and the bumiputras. This means that Malays and bumiputras will (collectively) be the ones paying the most GST tax.

So folks, the community which runs the economy - the shops, businesses and factories - has now been tasked by the Malay led BN gomen to collect the GST taxes from the Malays and others.

And they are supposed to hand over all the GST they have collected to the same Malay led BN Gomen that they do not like. Folks dyou think all the GST taxes they collect will reach the Gomen? I dont think so.

Lets be more "multi-racist". Let me tell you about one nasi kandar shop which does about RM18,000 collection per night. But he hardly declares RM5000 sales per day. Of course most of their customers are Malays.

I dont know if restaurants are exempted from GST (the GST definition of "food" may not include eating at Tony Romas or at the kepala ikan shop). This means this nasi kandar guy will collect 6% GST on the full RM18,000 sales but only remit GST on RM5000 or less.  He keeps the GST on RM13,000 (about RM800 per night). This is going to happen.

This means the Malays and bumiputras (the salary earners and consumers) will be paying 6% GST to the largest business community in this country as well as to the nasi kandar and kepala ikan shops with the belief that this money will all go to the gomen who will then use the money for their benefit. What if the 6% GST does not all reach the Gomen?

My fear is the "does not reach the Gomen" portion will be massive.

Why do I say so? Because this is Malaysia ok. We are a Third World country. These types of things happen on a gargantuan scale. You know, I know, the neighbours cat knows that too many people hide from paying their taxes. Or they try to avoid from paying taxes.

In Malaysia this problem is magnified. In this country it is race, race, race.

The business community is largely of one race.

The predominantly wage earner and consumer community is of one race (Malay & bumiputras).

So over time the Malays & bumiputras are going to pay more GST taxes - up to 19.1% (in a three party supply chain - as I have explained above). Plus they must also pay income taxes. The Malays and bumiputras will become poorer.

They will pay these GST taxes to the business community (non bumiputras) who run the shops and businesses. The non bumiputra business community will get more cash flowing through their hands. They will get richer.

Say there is massive 'kelemahan' in the system and they do not remit all the GST taxes they collect to the Gomen.  The Gomen will lose tax revenue. The Gomen cannot carry out as many programs.

Think again ok. Itu pasal I always say in Malaysia everything is always race, race and more race.

We cannot simply implement some text book theory or some con-sultans 'mee segera' ideas and paint every single Malaysian with the same brush. Tak boleh.  If I was a conspiracy theorist I would say that this GST was a non bumiputra conspiracy to impoverish the Malay bumiputra consumers and defraud the Gomen at the same time.

I know it is not. I am not accusing the non-bumis of any conspiracy. The GST is not their idea. But I have a feeling that is how it will turn out.

Who wants to pay taxes?
Especially to a Gomen that wastes so much money?
Who wants to incur expenses collecting taxes on behalf of this same Gomen?

If you thought that this GST is going to make your life easier, that it will make the flowers bloom and the birds sing, well what can I say? Pull your head out before its too late.

Talent Shit gets paid RM35,000 per month acting as pimp

Pemandu Director RM49,000, Assistant Director RM31,600, Senior Manager RM21,000, CEO Agensi Inovasi RM69,000, CEO SPAD RM58,500**, CEO Talentcorp RM35,000

M'sian Budget increased only 1.5% (RM250b to RM264b)

PM's Dept budget meletup 13% pula !!

Contract staff, Pemandu directors paid more than Chief Secretary, says MP of spending spike

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — An MP pointed today to the high salaries of contract staff in the federal government as an example of profligacy, citing as examples how senior appointments were paid as much as RM69,000 a month while a Performance Management & Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) director can command RM49,000.

Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming said such high wages — more than that of the Chief Secretary — had contributed to the 13 per cent increase in the budget for the prime minister’s department.

“In a parliamentary reply I received on the 1st of October, I was informed that the yearly salary, allowance and the bonus of the CEO of Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) was RM830,500 which works out to approximately a monthly salary of RM69,000,” said Ong in a statement here.

He said the government had also revealed that the CEO of the Land Transport Commission was paid RM40,000 a month, a yearly allowance of RM162,000 and a bonus of RM60,000**.

The CEO of TalentCorp, according to him, receives a monthly salary of RM30,000 and a monthly car allowance of RM5,000.

“All these CEOs are paid monthly salaries which are higher than the monthly salary of the highest paid civil servant which is the Chief Secretary which has a maximum monthly salary of RM23,577,” he added.

In addition to that, staff in Prime Minister’s Department agencies—who are mostly on contract—are also paid higher than their civil servant equivalents.

“For example, a director at PEMANDU — which is equivalent to a JUSA A/B civil servant — has a maximum salary of RM49,000 a month, an associate director at PEMANDU — equivalent to a JUSA C civil servant — has a maximum salary of RM31,600 a month while a senior manager —  equivalent to a Grade 54 civil servant — has a maximum salary of RM21,000 a month,” he explained.

Other agencies under the department include the Iskandar Regional Development Authority, the East Coast Economic Region Development Council, the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority, the Malaysian Industry Government Group for High Technology, and the Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera.

Ong also called on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to stop creating new agencies such as Yayasan Hijau and the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Center which overlaps with some other existing agencies such as the Sustainable Energy Development Authority, AIM and the Malaysian Productivity Council.

The allocation for the Prime Minister’s Department has ballooned by 13 per cent from last year, compared to the 1.5 per cent increase of total budget from RM250 billion to RM264 billion.

My comments : They say if you pay peanuts you will get monkeys. The issue here is if you pay the monkeys pistacchio nuts will they be any less monkeys? They will still be monkeys.

Malaysia is now safely on its way to the Club of Doom. At this rate the gomen is going to go bust. There will not be any more money left over to pay even the real Civil Servants salaries.

How much economic growth has all this spending generated? How much new wealth has been created in the economy. The economic growth forecasts have been reduced, not increased.

Despite the PM's Department throwing so much of our taxpayers money down the drain.

Talentcorp CEO paid RM30,000 per month? For doing what? Talentcorp has become a car AP agency. They offer Malaysians who left the country for "greener pastures" overseas two APs to bring in two cars duty free. They also offer these 'greener pasture' Malaysians a minimum 15% income tax bracket.

Why do you reward people who could not cut it inside Malaysia and left the country? And they are returning back to Malaysia because the grass is now turning brown overseas.  The grass in Malaysia is now turning greener for them.

Why? Because there are millions of people like us who stayed behind in Malaysia and worked hard for this country. We never left our country for greener pastures overseas. Bukan tak boleh pun. But we decided to stay behind and build our own country.

And for doing this the stupid gomen rewards those who left the country with two APs and a 15% tax bracket !!

There is no bottom to how stupid this gomen can become. Just when you thought they had hit the bottom they can dig a hole and sink further to the bottom.

‘Stop lies on sugar subsidy cut’

Lisa J. Ariffin

The sugar subsidy cut was not for health concerns, but for financial reasons, claims DAP MP.
KUALA LUMPUR: Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua has accused Putrajaya of misleading the public on the real reason behind the removal of the sugar subsidy, as announced during Budget 2014 last Friday.
The DAP MP today claimed the government had abolished the sugar subsidy of 34 sen as the then Domestic Trade Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Ismail Sabri had signed a three-year contract in 2012 to import raw sugar at an exorbitant price of US$26 per 100lbs.
“The real reason why the people are forced to enjoy sugar at a high price is because the government had signed an agreement to import raw sugar which is priced too highly,” Pua said in a statement here.
“If we consider the current international price of raw sugar, which is US$18.91 for every 100lbs, the government would not only be free from allocating subsidies (for sugar), moreover the price of sugar (in Malaysia) will be cheaper than the current rate of RM2.84 per kilo,” he added.
Pua said he had issued a critical statement during the signing of the contract in 2012 as the government had bought raw sugar at a higher rate than the market price then, of US$23.42.
“The difference in contract price was 10% of market price and resulted in the government having to bear a loss of RM64 million each year,” he explained.
“At that time, I had warned the government of international analysis reports which predicted that the price of sugar will drop due to excessive supply,” he said.
“However, this was ignored by the government. In fact, then International Trade and Industry deputy minister Mukhriz Mahathir said in parliament that the price of sugar was predicted to increase in future,” he added.
Pua then disclosed that the international price of raw sugar has dropped to as low as US$16.70 per 100lbs in September 2013.
“This means the government had bought sugar at a price 55.7% higher than the new market rate,” he said.
He acknowledged that the price of sugar has since increased to US$18.91, but said: “It is still far cheaper than the government’s import price”.
“Based on the market rate, the government has paid an excess of RM194 million each year for the import of 2.73 billion pounds of sugar,” he said.
Pua urged the government to explain its policies on sugar import and publicly admit the real reason for slashing the sugar subsidy.
“The government must admit their wrongdoing, investigate why raw sugar was imported at a higher rate and announce what corrective action is to be taken so similar problems would not happen in future.”

Genting bus crash prompts RTD to profile drivers

The Road Transport Department now has powers to take action against drivers with unpaid traffic summonses.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Road Transport Department (RTD) now has powers to suspend or revoke the licenses of drivers with unpaid traffic summonses, after its failure to blacklist the bus driver responsible for the Aug 21 Genting Highlands’ fatal road accident.
The bus driver, Lim Kok Ho, had 16 unpaid traffic summonses prior to the crash – 15 for speeding and one for obstructing traffic – and was allowed to continue driving because he had yet to be prosecuted in court.
“The RTD has set up a new section called the driver’s profile section which allows the RTD to suspend or revoke the driving license of drivers via the demerit system, to suspend or revoke the license of drug addicts, and of those with unpaid traffic summonses.
“This section replaces the current Kejara system which only allows the RTD to suspend and revoke the licenses based on the demerit system,” Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Aziz Kaprawi (BN-Sri Gading) told the Dewan Rakyat today.
He was responding to a question from Liow Tiong Lai (BN-Bentong) on the steps taken by the Transport Ministry to ensure a repeat of the road accident did not occur.
“With this new profiling system, we will be able to profile dangerous drivers and take action against those drivers with many summonses, who may endanger the lives of others,” assured Abdul Aziz.
Apart from the profiling system, the deputy transport minister said the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) had set up new guidelines for bus operators at highland areas.
In a Sept 9 circular, all buses must be equipped with closed circuit cameras (CCTVs) at the dashboard to record the drivers’ actions throughout the journey. The CCTV recordings must be stored for at least a week.
Bus drivers are now required to have at least three years’ experience driving a public transportation vehicle and must record their journey using the global positioning system (GPS).
The bus operators will monitor the bus’ journey through the GPS, and are to ensure that the drivers adhere to road rules, especially the speed limit. Bus operators must take action against drivers that violate the road rules.
Thirty six passengers and the bus driver were killed when their bus plunged into a 200-foot ravine on the way down from Genting Highlands. It was the worst road accident in Malaysian history.
When met outside the Parliament, Aziz said he could not reveal more details on the accident as he still waiting for reports from the committee investigating the tragedy.
“There are many factors that caused the accident. Speeding is one reason. The driver was driving at 120 kilometres per hour (KpH) while the speed limit was 50 Kph.
“Anyway, I can’t reveal anything more pending details from the committee chaired by Lee Lam Thye,” he said.

I want to bring to attention one of the reason given by our brainless Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Aziz a self proclaim God who said that the cause of the accident in Genting which killed 37 people was because Lim Kok Ho the bus driver was driving at 120 kilometres per hour.
People who have driven up and down Genting Highland will and can vouch that it is not possible for ANYONE to drive at that speed especially that corner where the accident happened.  Even Michael Schumacher the Seven Time Formula One Driver will not test death there.
It is to be expected that the cause of the accident will shift solely to Lim Kok Ho.  Even in death there is no peace.
